The Commercial and Industrial Chamber of Florina, the Municipality of Amyntaio, the company LEVER-Development Consultants and the Environmental Organisation “Callisto” are organising an information event at Florina on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at 05:00 pm, in the Hall of Commercial and Industrial Chamber of Florina.

The aim of the event is to inform local businesses about the benefits of acquiring the “Brown Bear” Label, its requirements (measures, practices) and the actions that all companies should undertake in order to be awarded with it. The awarding of the “Brown Bear” Label to companies in the area of the Municipality of Amyntaio will undertake the Commercial and Industrial Chamber of Florina. This awarding will contribute to the preserving the natural environment, promoting local cultural identity, imposing high quality standards on the products and services of the companies that shall receive the brand, and, ultimately, to sustainable development of the rural areas concerned.

In addition, during the event the Environmental Organisation “Callisto” will present the management practices of human-bear interaction. Finally, anti-poison first aid kits and certificates of attendance (necessary during the process of the awarding of the “Brow Bear” Label) will be distributed.

The LIFE AMYBEAR project started its implementation since October 2016 and will be completed in early 2021. It aims to improve the conditions of co-existing of humans and bears in the area of the Municipality of Amyntaio and the Municipality of Florina. LEVER-Development Consultants, the Municipality of Amyntaio and the Directorate of Forests of the Decentralised Administration of Epirus-Western Macedonia and the Environmental Organisation “Callisto” are formulating the partnership of the project.
